Nature & Stat Alignment

Learn how Natures change stats and why Pokémon Champions calls point allocation Stat Alignment.

How Natures work

  • Boosted stat: ×1.1 (+10%)
  • Lowered stat: ×0.9 (−10%)
  • Other non-HP stats are unchanged by Nature
  • HP is never changed by Nature

Example: Adamant

Adamant boosts Attack by 10% and lowers Sp. Attack by 10%; HP stays unchanged.

Why can this tradeoff help?

  • A physically focused setup may care less about lowered Sp. Atk when the planned moves do not use Sp. Atk.
  • A specially focused setup may care less about lowered Attack when the planned moves do not use Attack.
  • Lowered Speed can be intentional in strategies such as Trick Room.

These explain the mechanic; they are not best-Nature advice for any specific Pokémon.
